Murphy’s Plumbing & Gas – Refund Policy
At Murphy’s Plumbing & Gas, we aim to provide quality workmanship and transparent service. We understand that circumstances can change, and this policy outlines when refunds may apply.
Deposits
Deposits are fully refundable prior to works commencing, however the following costs may be deducted where applicable: Administration costs reasonably incurred in sourcing products, scheduling, or project administration. Restocking fees charged by suppliers for materials or products ordered specifically for your job. Any non-refundable supplier charges already incurred on your behalf.Where no costs have been incurred, deposits will be refunded in full.
Cancellation of Work
If a booking is cancelled after materials have been purchased or labour/resources have been allocated, Murphy’s Plumbing & Gas reserves the right to deduct reasonable costs already incurred.Where possible, we will provide a clear breakdown of any deductions.Materials and Special OrdersCustom, made-to-order, or special-order items may not be eligible for refund once ordered, unless defective or required under New Zealand consumer law.
Completed Works
Due to the nature of plumbing and gasfitting services, refunds are generally not provided for completed labour where work has been carried out to an acceptable professional standard and in accordance with the agreed scope. If you believe work is unsatisfactory, please contact us promptly so we can assess and, where appropriate, rectify the issue.
Faults, Defects, and Guarantees
Murphy’s Plumbing & Gas complies with the protections provided under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and other applicable New Zealand laws. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under those laws.
Refund Timeframes
Approved refunds will typically be processed within 5–10 business days, depending on payment method and banking times.
